Connie's Email:
It is inexcusable and unacceptable for red, white or bluedog Democrats to side with pharmaceutical and health insurance industries against the medical needs of the American people.
A national single payer health care system like H.R. 676 is the only thing that will work for individuals and employers. The middle man must be eliminated and the money used to pay for health care for all. We know it's workable.
Why is Congress so afraid to have the Congressional Budget Office prepare an analysis of H.R. 676? It is your duty to do this given that over 70% of Americans have stated they want a drastic change in health care. The CBO's mandate to provide objective and impartial analysis is absolutely called for in this situation. There is a process in place to help Congress arrive at the best decisions on behalf of all Americans. When you don't use that process, it's obvious that you don't want to reach the best decision for all American because you are listening to corporate donors. Let the process unfold! It's there to help give you some much needed backbone against the onslaught of lobbyist!
The so called reform you support is nothing more than government subsidizing of the health insurance industry. We understand that instead of our insurance premiums going up $11,000 some odd dollars over the next decade, it will only go up some $9,000 dollars. You call this REFORM? I call it unacceptable.
Many Americans have lost their jobs because of the uneven playing field our market based health care system has caused in a global economy. Our businesses are tied to health care for their employees when their competitors are not. At least H.R. 676 provides for the transition of health insurance industry employees which is more than the countless other Americans who have lost jobs because of a market based health care system.
How dare congressional representatives shut down the system of exploring and debating the single payer option. With Democrats like you, who needs Republicans???
Stop siding with certain corporate interests against the average American and other corporations. Increasing numbers of Americans are going bankrupt because of medical bills, with or without medical insurance. Over 18,000 Americans are dying every year because they don't have health care. This is immoral and unconscionable.
