Suspects In NY Synagogue Plot To Be Held In Jail

WHITE PLAINS, New York (Reuters) - Four Muslim men suspected of a plot to blow up two New York synagogues and shoot down military planes were ordered to remain in jail on Thursday in what police called homegrown terrorism.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisa Smith ordered James Cromitie, 55, to remain in jail along with David Williams, 28, Onta Williams, 32, and Haitian citizen Laguerre Payen, 27. Read more.

Cheney: Torture was never permitted. And the methods were given careful legal review before they were approved. Interrogators had authoritative guidance on the line between toughness and torture, and they knew to stay on the right side of it. Read More.

PADUCAH, Kentucky (CNN) -- Jurors on Thursday told a judge they could not reach a decision on whether a former U.S. soldier should be sentenced to death for war crimes -- including rape and murder -- he committed in Iraq.
The lack of a unanimous decision means Steven Green will be sentenced to life in prison without parole, according to instructions given to jurors as they began deliberations on the sentence Wednesday. Read more.

When a bank is robbed the local police and the FBI will have enough people at the scene of the crime to eat the place in a matter of minutes. So what happens to AIG when they come close to bringing down the entire American economy? We give them money, $180 billion of our tax dollars, and the FBI is nowhere to be seen.

March 16 (Bloomberg) -- Obama administration officials and lawmakers lambasted plans by American International Group Inc., the insurer rescued by the government, to dole out $1 billion in bonuses and retention pay to employees.

AIG seems to be saying give us what we want or we're going to destroy the United States of America because we're to big to fail and we seem to say OK we'll give you what you want plus a bonus. Hell these folks seem to be in the same league as the Mexican drug cartel and one could easily conclude that AIG is using terrorist tactics and blackmail and I don't say that lightly. Wars and revolutions have been started over less and if terrorist or a foreign country did this to us we might be at war with them now.
So does this mean if we rob a bank and get caught we can expect a bonus? I don't think so but that seems to be the message we are getting from the folks handing AIG our tax dollars.

Before George W. Bush and the members of congress get too giddy about spending $700 billion dollars, we don't have, to bailout the work of thieves and leaving it for our children and grand children to pay. How about telling that bunch of lazy ass slacker, thieves to kiss our ass, but if the Washington politicians don't have the stomach for that, then fund the bailout, even if it means raising the taxes, yes raising taxes. Of course the morally unrighteous right wing neocons would rather strap our children with this debt than pay for it themselves. What a bunch of self serving, greedy hypocrites.
Hell, it seems to me, the terrorist and Bin Laden can relax and take a vacation because George W. Bush, John McCain, Senator Mitch McConnell and their lazy ass slacker, thieving pals are destroying the United States of America faster and more efficient than the terrorist could have ever imagined!!!!
Phil Gramm would probably call me a whiner, but Mr. Gramm was a sponsor of the legislation that got us to this point (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) of mortgaging our children's future to bailout the wall street thieves and John McCain voted with Senator Mitch McConnell to pass this piece of shit law, that also included the "Enron loophole"  for their morally unrighteous right wing neocon, lazy ass slacker, thieving pals.

Yesterday Henry Paulson, United States Treasury Secretary, held a press conference at 11:00am EDT on a Sunday morning to tell us, the tax payers, we're going to take over Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and their $5.4 trillion worth of home debt - half the mortgage debt in the country. This was a well choreographed press conference, at 11:00am EDT Sunday morning  when a large portion of the Eastern and Central U.S. were either in church or on their way to church and the folks out on the west Coast were still in bed or just getting up. In the meanwhile Republican Gov. Charlie Crist was holding a press conference at the very same time about hurricane Ike, what a coincidence.
Our government is potentially putting us $5.4 trillion in debt and they hold a press conference at 11:00 am EDT on a Sunday?
Well the good news is we don't have to worry about the terrorist destroying the United states, because George W. Bush and his banking pals are beating them to the punch, oh by the way let's don't forget John McCain (the Keating Five) or his son Andrew K. McCain.
Now you would think that someone would go to jail over this mess, but these folks have raked in some serious money. Fannie Mae CEO Daniel Mudd reaped a 7 percent rise in pay to $13.4 million in 2007 while the company lost $2.1 billion and its shared fell 33%. How would you like to have a job like that?
Using a pay-disclosure measure that the SEC prefers, which treats the value of stock and options differently, Freddie Mac chief Richard Syron's pay for 2007 was $18.3 million, up 24% from 2006. That ain't bad either.
It's really hard to believe the conservatives are for socialized Health Care banking, but seeing is believing!
